Stay strong, Dixie. We're all thinking of you and praying for you and sending you lots of hugs.
I won't deny that it will be tough since he can't contact you, but know that you have given him the strength and courage he needs to make it through these next 12 weeks, strong enough to come out the other side having earned the right to call himself "Marine."
Semper Fi, Dixie.
I thank you again for raising a son who has chosen to serve his country in the military.
OH darlin' you and Matt and Kaitlin and Tony all deserve the praise and love.
Dixie, I don't doubt this is going to be the toughest moment in your life. God bless you and keep you in his peace!!!
~~~Blessings~~~
Know I'm there with you, and I love you Sis.
Just close your eyes and feel the hug.
Hi Dixie. Just wanted to drop by and show some friendly blogger love. I've been seeing posts about you all over the blogosphere. I just want you to know that you are in my prayers and I am sending lots of good thoughts your way. Hold your head up high, Dixie because you've raised an awesome young man. I just want to say "THANK YOU" to you and his service.
Oh Dixie I miss you and it is so true...can't you just feel so many people lifting you and Matt up their thoughts and prayers?
I was so suprised when I heard from you this morning.
Hugs and smoochies Dixie lady!!
You will do fine. as will he. Be strong!
Take pride in that fine young man you raised lady, you have given a gift to America, I will be one to thank you for sharing your Marine with us.
I can't imagine, as the mother of two boys myself, what you must be feeling... but I'm incredibly sure that PRIDE comes into play, along with the understandable reservations.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your brave, noble young man.
(((hugs)))
I'll be thinking of you today... smmmmooooches and hugs :-)
Hang in there Dixie and Cheers!!
We love you back!
Hey there,
I'd like to take this time and congratulation you on your awesome blog and inform you that you are in the running for Bestest Blog of the Year. You are up against 104 other excellent blogs that have all qualified by being "Bestest Blog of the Day" in the past 12 months. Voting starts TODAY (July 23rd) and will end in 2 weeks (August 6th). Winners will be announced on August 7th!
The winner will be receiving (at least) a $50 prize and a ton of new visitors I'm sure. Other blogs that finish in the top 10 will also be getting a few new links and extra exposure. Full details of the contest can be found here. So what can you do to increase your chances of winning?
1. Go vote for yourself (duh!)
2. Encourage others to vote for you. Here is the URL: http://www.blankestblank.com/bestest/blog-of-the-year/. You can also find a nifty little graphic to include on your blog here.
3. Encourage others to register before voting. Registered users votes count 3 times more than guests.
4. Keep up the great blogging that got you here in the first place. People are going to be stopping by your blog before voting, and if you have some great, new content, that'll surely increase your vote.
Again, congratulations and good luck! And if you're interested in winning another "blog of the day" award and get in the running for next year's award, check out the new "Blankest Blank Blog Directory." Questions? Please feel free to email me or drop by the forum.
Well, Dix - congrats on that!!
I love you girl. You'll get through this.
HUGS FOR ALL OF YOU.
Thank you to you, your son and the rest of your family for all that you sacrafice!
Oh, and I'm here via Sparky Duck :P
Luv yuh too, hon! You'll be okay. I know it's rough but you've got plenty of friends to help you through it. Hugs.
"Raise up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it," Proverbs 22:6
You have done this exact thing and even though letting go is the hardest thing a Mom can ever do, I know that Matt will do you proud in all things and in all ways even more so than he has done already.
I can't wait to see pictures of him in his uniform though not as much as you I'm sure! It may not seem like it, but these next weeks will pass quickly and when Matt emerges from Parris Island a United States Marine you are going to be the proudest Mom on the planet and deservedly so!
Hang in there, Dixie, and know that we love you and admire both you and Matt for his service and for your willingness to let him follow his heart. It's hard but you're doing it!
Big hugs to you Dixie...
:blush:
We try...
Hugs and kisses!
Hugsies and kissies...am thinking of you and Matt. The love between you and Matt will carry you to the day you will watch his graduation from Boot Camp. We're with you all the way...
Everything will be fine, if not easy but fine. Starr reminded me of the rule of 3 and it will work out great for you
