This is beautiful...

On a side note, I was watching the Ellen Show the other day, and she had Bob Woodruff as her guest. His story is amazing...but there was a portion of the interview where they spoke about the soldiers who go and come back injured or completely incapacitated. And what they said is true - we need to be paying more attention to those who risked their lives for us only to be forgotten when they come back and have nothing.

While I am proud that we are trying to fight the good fight, I am ashamed of the statistics it has given us...

The photo, along with the words, breaks my heart...he looks so all alone and I imagine they feel that way at times. I love these guys and gals that put it all on the line for me and mine! Words could never convey my feelings for our people in uniform!!!
My grandson is talking about enlisting, and although it does scare me, I would much rather see him enlist than waste his life like so many young people, pursuing a life of hedonism. He'll become a better man for it.

But let us also not forget that many protest on behalf of these brave men and women, with thoughts of them foremost in their minds.

To protest is not to disavow the bravery and sacrifice. To protest is to grasp the rights, priveledges, and responsibilities of living within the democracy that bravery and sacrifice protects. To protest is to exercise these rights to opinion and dissent, and to do so with respect.
