Worth a replay

I received this commerical in my e-mail this week. I don't know if anyone has seen it... so what if you have... it's definitely worth a replay. It makes me cry every time I watch it.

I believe this one will be run during the Super Bowl this Sunday... this is one that should be replayed after the Super Bowl and ranked right up there in the top 2 best Super Bowl commercials ever!

This statue currently stands outside the Iraqi palace, now home to the 4th Infantry division.

It will eventually be shipped home and put in the memorial museum in Fort Hood , TX

The statue was created byan Iraqi artist named Kalat, who for years was forced by Saddam Hussein to make the many hundreds of bronze busts of Saddam that dotted Baghdad Kalat was so grateful for the Americans liberation of his country; He melted 3 of the heads of the fallen Saddam and made the statue as a memorial to the American soldiers and their fallen warriors.

Kalat worked on this memorial night and day for several months. To the left of the kneeling soldier is a small Iraqi girl giving the soldier comfort as he mourns the loss of his comrade in arms.

Do you know why we don't hear about this in the news? Because it is heart warmingand praise worthy. The media avoids it because it does not have the shock effect.

Can we do something about it? Of course we can. We can in honor of all our brave military who are making a difference.

WII.... WOULD LIKE TO PLAY

Tony and I bought a Wii last night.... oh. my. god.... I'm so sore this morning.

We got it up and running about 7:00 last night and I don't think we went to bed until around 1:00 AM or so. Had a freaking blast! Wonder what WII will be doing this weekend? ;-)

Our Tiger boys play Gonzaga today at 11:00 CST. GO TIGERS GO!!!! If you don't remember, the University of Memphis Tigers are No. 1. First time in 25 years...

GO TIGERS GO!!!!

I work with a guy who is originally from Wisconsin. He sent this picture to us yesterday. Apparently a lady who lives in Ladysmith, WI has some new pets... or wanna be. Looks like they wanted to come in from the cold. There isn't just two but three deer. I've circled the one who stayed off the deck. He's kind of hard to see.

Well, I heard from Matt on Thursday. He is NOT getting to come home and work RA for 30 days. He missed it by 4 pull ups. He said that he did them but the Sgt that was counting him screwed him out of them. How? The Sgt. told him that from where he was standing that he couldn't see his chin go above the bar. Matt said that it did but of course couldn't say anything because he was is superior. So.... he'll be staying at "Camp Cornfield" and working in parties. But... and yes this is a teensy tiny BUT.... he said that he may try to come home next time he gets a 96 which will be somtime in February. Will just have to wait and see...

Nothing else much to say today. Kaitlin is already in the front room playing the WII. She is wanting me to come and play with her so I'm headed that way.

A Prayer for Coco

I first met Coco in 2006 ... the year that I got totally addicted to American Idol or now known as "the show that shall remain nameless"... for reasons that only someone from the Soul Patrol would understand.
Although I have never met her personally I feel like I have known her forever. She is a single mother to an adorable little boy and a very special lady to a man by the name of Mac.
So please take the time to go over and visit my dear friend Coco's blog and read the very sad message from her boyfriend Mac. She has been through so much the last year and deserves to find health and happiness.

I love you Coco!

January 15, 1929 - April 4, 1968

Dr. King led the civil rights movement and fought for racial equality with something much stronger than tolerance... his ideal was love.
The battle that Dr. King started in his 1963 speech is possibly the hardest battle we have to face as a society. It is unfortunate that more than forty years later we still have racism and discriminatin in America. I hope one day his dream will finally come true and all American will be seen as equal.
Although I did not originally hear Dr. King give his speech, to hear it even today is as powerful as if I had originally heard it. I would love to see the world he describes. It is true we have come a long way from this time period, but sadly we HAVE NOT overcome all racism, and its as sad now as it was then.

Throughout my life, I have grown to admire Dr. King for what he stood for. He was a leader to not only his people, but to ALL oppressed people.

Dr King had a dream.... a dream that one day ALL men and women would be equal. That they would not be judged by the color of their skin but by content of their character. Making this dream come true would be one of the greatest events to ever happen in American society. He brought together nations and helped us to see things from someone else's eyes. He took a stand against powerful people when no one else would. He kept trying once he was doubted and threatened. Martin Luther King Jr. got people around the world to look past "black" labeling and accept and love him.

From Wikipedia:
Martin Luther King, Jr. (
January 15, 1929April 4, 1968) was a famous leader of the American civil rights movement, a political activist, and a Baptist minister. In 1964, King became the youngest man to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize (for his work as a peacemaker, promoting nonviolence and equal treatment for different races). On April 4, 1968, Dr. King was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1977, he was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Jimmy Carter. In 1986, Martin Luther King Day was established as a United States holiday, only the fourth Federal holiday to honor an individual (the other three being in honor of Jesus of Nazareth, George Washington, and Christopher Columbus). In 2004, King was posthumously awarded the Congressional Gold Medal. He was known as a great public speaker.[1] Dr. King often called for personal responsibility in fostering world peace.[2] King's most influential and well-known public address is the "I Have A Dream" speech, delivered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C..

Dr. King is one of the few true American heroes. In a time where it has become fashionable to hero-bash--the name of Dr. King has remains unblemished, and justifiably so. Dr. King stood for what he believed, and was a man ahead of his time. In the face of adversity, he dedicated and sacrificed his life for the equality of all people. His dream, which many today still share, has continued to live on as his legacy. His adversaries took his life, but his heroic legacy will never die.

It could really happen ...

Yes, I'm so excited... that I just can't hide it. I have no one to call to jump up and down and share my excitement with so I'm doing it here. I can't type fast enough.

What am I talking about??? I'm talking about my University of Memphis Tigers... that's what I'm talking about. Why am I so excited?

Well is appears that No. 1 North Carolina was upset by Maryland... 82-80 was the final score. No. 2 Memphis plays Southern Miss tonight at home... they MUST win big!!!

What does this mean.... this means that since North Carolina lost and if Memphis wins then my boys will be No. 1 in the land... they will then get the respect that they so deserve.

Now... sweet Sandee from Comedy Plus has awarded me with me with the You Cheer Me Up Award. The creator of this award is Ann of A Nice Place In The Sun. Thank you for thinking of me Sandee. It's very much appreciated.

So, here are the folks that cheer me up:

Vinny from The Big Leather Couch
Anndi from Anndi's Luggage
Julie from Julie's Jewels and Junque
Turnbaby from And As the World Turns

Tisha from CrAzy Working Mom
Linda from Are We There Yet?
Matt Man from Bagwine Ruminations
Desert Songbird from The Ice Box
Roger from Idaho Daily Photo

See y'all later...

It's the weekend

and a very long weekend at that. Parts of the long weekend by choice, some parts by not choice.

I woke up this morning with a migraine so bad that I could hardly open my eyes. I did have to get up and get Kaitlin off to school but then I went straight back to bed. I'm up now posting feeling a litte better but my eyes still feel like they are full of sand. So this part of the weekend is not by choice. I'd rather have frogs put down my shirt than have a headache like this one.... wait... NO FROGS.... on never mind... ;-)

So what else is going on this weekend. Not much except for Sunday... ahhh yes Sunday... the play offs.

Now for you nonfootball fans just turn your head the other way until I finish then we'll go back to our regular schedule post.

Now if my Tennessee Titans can't be there what other team would I like to see... the GREEN BAY PACKERS. Yes, you heard me... GO PACK!!!

Our friend Vinny from The Big Leather Couch is a HUGE New York Giants fan.... again I say... GO PACK!!! I asked him earlier in the week if he wanted to place a wager on this game.

So what do we have here? We have an outstanding quarterback Brett Favre... GO PACK... who is 38 years old, a three time NFL MVP who decided to postpone his retirement and try for another Super Bowl ring. GO PACK!!!!

We have the whiny baby, Eli Manning, who by the way is little brother to cry baby Peyton Manning. Yes, Eli is starting to show some leadership and big play ability but does he have what it takes to shut down Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers? I don't think so... GO PACK!!!
Will Eli loose his focus in the frigid temperature on Lambeau field? Will Brett Favre show him just how an old man can do it? All I can say is.... GO PACK!!!!

Oh and the other game being played this weekend... I think it's the New England Patriots and the San Diego Chargers .... ahhh yes... but who really cares about Tom Brady and that Rivers kid... GO PACK!!!!

Now back to a regular post for those nonfootball fans out there in the blogsphere...

Just got a phone call from Matt. He's been busy in the gym working really hard on his pull ups. He says this is what he needs to focus on to improve his PFT score. Let's continue to pray...

I have not said anything about this but when Matt was home for Christmas he was complaining with his knee bothering him. My brother, who is a physical therapist, did a quick check and told him he thought he had torn some cartilage. Matt decided NOT to say anything about it until after his training in Jacksonville. So, when I talked to him just a bit ago he had told me that he had gone to the doctor. There is some good news... he hasn't torn any cartilage but has strained his MCL. Yes, he has a strained MCL. Doc gave him some Tylenol and Naproxen, told him to ice it and take it easy.

So, I called my brother. He said that was not a bad thing. That if he did what the doctor told him then he should be ok. But he couldn't understand how he had strained his MCL. Of course, it could have been a number of things and we'll never know how but just so very thankful it wasn't torn cartilage. Time will heal.

We are off work Monday for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Look for my post about this incredible man on Monday.

So with all this being said... my head is starting to hurt again. I don't think I'll be able to read any post today. Will shoot for tonight... if not tonight this weekend.

GO PACK!!!!

This Just In.....

UPDATE: Matt just called. His Security Forces school does not start until March. They are that far behind. If he can get his PFT score up to 225 then he will get to come home and work Recruiters Assistance for 30 days. He will qualify on Wednesday. His current score is 203. He said that he was going to work out alot until Wednesday. There isn't really much for them to do right now. They are just in a holding platoon right now.

If he doesn't get his score up, then he will have to stay there and work in groups until March.

He says that they call this place he's at they have nicknamed "Camp Cornfield" because there is NOTHING... absolutely NOTHING within miles from them. The only thing on base is a PX and an ATM machine. He's about 20 minutes from Virginia Beach. At least on base in Jacksonville they had a Wendy's.

So... this is a good thing... means he WON'T be deployed in April as I had feared. He also told me that they way it looks now that he won't be deployed for 2 years... but of course that can change at the drop of a hat...

Will keep you updated if he gets to come home or not.

Hey y'all

Turnbaby here

I am posting this for Miss Dixie whose IT police won't let her post from work. Boo.

He's on to his next destination

Yes, I received the text message from Matt today around 1:30 pm CST saying that he does not get to come home. Needless to say I cried. I'm just a big cry baby... a softie I guess you could call me. I don't care. Looks like my birthday will be just another one ... first one in 18 years without my son.

I had tried to prepare myself for this... but didn't succeed. I said that I wasn't holding my breath. I said that it would be ok if he didn't get to come home. I said that I wanted him to hurry up and finish his training so he could be assigned to his permanent duty station. But today I was selfish... I wanted him home... even if it was for only a short time.

It's not happening. I don't know all the details. What I do know is that he will leave out sometime Wednesday headed to Virginia for more training. He will have about 6 weeks of Security Forces school and then will be sent to the fleet.

One piece of good news though. Yesterday he told me that the guys that are graduating Wednesday are not scheduled to be deployed until September 2009. I breathed a sigh of relief. Not only for my Marine but for all the mothers that I have grown so close to. For my sisters. You see our sons are a Band of Brothers.... we are a Band of Sisters. We walk each miled so close together.

I have only had the opportunity to meet a few of these wonderful ladies... but we are in this together... at least for the next 4 - 5 years.

Do we have a name? Of course we do. Would you like to know the name of our little group? Of course you would.

We are known as "Looney Leatherneck Ladies" -

Our motto - "Don't mess with us, we raised Marines."

No one ever said being a mom was easy. It's not... it's one of the hardest things I've ever done. Kids don't come with instruction manuals. But I didn't realize how easy I had it until my only son left home, joined the Marine Corps and became a wonderful young man. I think that they key chain that I bought at Parris Island sums it all up. It says ...Marine Mom - Toughest job in the Corps. No truer words have ever been written. Yes, Matt says he's happy. He tells me that he's happy and that's all that matters. But I miss him...

I just miss him.

Waiting by the phone

Well, I normally don't post on weekends. I'm sitting here in my pj's waiting for Matt to call. He texted me last night and said that he would have libo (liberty) today and for me to be by the phone. Now that could be good news or bad news. I'm taking it as it will be good news.

He did say when he was home for Christmas that there was a slight possibility of him being able to come home after he graduates from SOI for about 30 days. It would depend on if the next school had already started or not and how backed up they were. This would be his MOS school for Security Forces which is in Virginia. I'm not holding my breath but praying...

Like I said, he graduates from SOI on January 16 which is my mother's birthday. If he does get to come home that would be the bestest birthday present ever as mine is January 17 and that means he would be home on my birthday... I'm still not holding my breath... but praying really hard.

I'll let you know.

I must stay out of the dungeon - The Band Meme

Queen Mimi has tagged me for a meme... I must do as the Queen says or I'll be in the cold, dreary dungeon and that is one place that I dare not go. There may be *whispers* frogs down there and y'all know how I feel about those slimey green creatures.

So here it is...

The Band Meme

Here's how it goes. You are about to have your own band's CD cover. Follow these directions to the letter. My tagee list is at the bottom of this post. It's fun and requires no thought at all. Go to......

1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first article title on the page is the name of your band.

2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.

3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4. Use your graphics program of choice to throw them together, and post the result as a comment in this post.

Also, pass it along in your own blog because it’s more amusing that way.

My results! So now that I've kept myself out of the dungeon I must tag someone... who shall I tag... ummm.... ok let's start with

Kathrine @ Wading through my stream of consciousness

Lois @ Lowdown from Lois

Roger @ Idaho Daily Photo

Dessert Songbird @ The Ice Box

and anybody else who wants to play and that Mimi hasn't already tagged. It's really fun.

Go ahead don't be a chicken... take a stab at it...

Today's message ...

Every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back ...

Today's Message of the Day is:

Life is short,
Break the rules,
Forgive quickly,
Kiss slowly,
Love truly,
Laugh uncontrollably,
and never regret anything that made you smile.

Life may not be the party we hoped for,
but while we're here we should dance....

So with that being said I must make you laugh ...

How to weigh yourself...

I can't believe I've been doing it wrong all these years....
WE MUST GET THE WORD OUT!!!!

A WEEK AT THE GYM:

ONE MAN'S STORY...

If you read this without laughing out loud, there is something wrong with you. This is dedicated to everyone who ever attempted toget into a regular workout routine.

Dear Diary:

For my fortieth birthday this year, my wife (the dear)purchased a week of personal training at the local health club for me. Although I am still in great shape since playing on my collegefootball team 25yrs ago, I decided it would be a good idea to go aheadand give it a try. I called the club and made my reservation with apersonal trainer named Belinda, who identifiedherself as a 26 yr. old aerobics instructor and model for athletic clothing and swimwear. My wife seemed pleased with my enthusiasm to get started! The club encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress.

MONDAY: Started my day at 6:00am. Tough to get out of bed, but it was well worth it when Iarrived at the health club to find Belinda waiting for me. She was something of a Greek goddess - with blonde hair, dancing eyes and adazzling white smile. Woo Hoo!!!!! She took my pulse after 5 minutes on the treadmill. She was alarmed that my pulse was so fast, but I attributed it to standing next to her in her Lycra aerobics outfit. I enjoyed watching the skillful way in which she conducted her aerobics class after my orkout today. Very inspiring, Belinda was encouraging as I did my sit-ups, athough my gut was already aching from holding it in the whole time he was around. This is going to be a FANTASTIC week!!

TUESDAY: I drank a whole pot of coffee, but I finally made it out thedoor. Belinda made me lie on my back and push a heavy iron bar into he air, and then she put weights on it! My legs were a little wobbly n the treadmill, but I made the full mile. Belinda's rewarding smile ade it all orthwhile. I feel GREAT!! It's a whole new life for me.

WEDNESDAY: The only way I can brush my teeth is by lying on the toothbrush on the counter and moving my mouth back and forth over it. I believe I have a hernia in both pectorals. Driving was OK as long as I didn't try to steer or stop. I parked on top of a GEO in the club parking lot. Belinda was impatient with me, insisting that my screams bothered the other club members. Her voice is a little too perky for early in the morning andwhen she scolds, she gets this nasally whines that is VERY annoying. My chest hurts when I got on the treadmill, so Belinda put meon the stair monster. Why the hell would anyone invent a machine to simulate an activity rendered obsolete by elevators? Belinda told me it would help me get in shape and enjoy life. She said some other shit too.

THURSDAY: Belinda was waiting for me with her vampire-like teeth exposedas her thin, cruel lips were pulled back in a full snarl. I couldn't help being a half an hour late; it took me that long to tie my shoes. Belinda took me to workout with dumbbells. When she was not looking, I ran and hid in the men's room. She sent Lars to find me, then, aspunishment, put me on the rowing machine -- which I sank.

FRIDAY: I hate that bitch Belinda more than any human being has everhated any other human being in the history of the world. Stupid, skinny, anemic little cheerleading bitch. If there were a part of my body I could move without unbearable pain, I would beat her with it. Belinda wanted me to work on my triceps. I don't have any triceps! And if you don't want dents in the floor, don't hand me the*&%#(#&**barbells or anything that weighs more than a sandwich. The treadmill flung me off and I landed on a health andnutrition teacher. Why couldn't it have been someone softer, like thedrama coach or the choir director?

SATURDAY: Belinda left a message on my answering machine in her grating, shrilly voice wondering why I did not show up today. Just hearing her made me want to smash the machine with my planner. However, I lacked the strength to even use the TV remote and ended up catching eleven straight hours of the Weather Channel.

SUNDAY: I'm having the Church van pick me up for services today so Ican go and thank GOD that this week is over. I will also pray that next year, my wife (the other bitch), will choose a gift for me that is fun --like a root canal or a vasectomy.

So now that I've made you laugh ... have a great weekend!

DING, DING, DING... Round 2

What do I mean by that?

Tuesday we had massive storms pass through our area. Yesterday was a beautiful day... today.... massive storms again. Thankfully everyone here is safe.

Everyone knows that back in the spring and summer I spent alot of time in Pulaski at our sister plant. I have not been back to Pulaski since October ... An announcement was made Tuesday that they are closing that plant. With that plant closing they are transferring work to our plant. Yes that's good news for us but my work load has just tripled... I'm tired when I get home. It's 6:10 pm and Tony's still at work.

Going to walk on the treadmill, take a shower, grab a bite of supper, and hit the sack. I'm beat! I've got one heck of a headache. I first thought it was sinus but now I'm beginning to think it's stress.

Until tomorrow - SMOOCHES~

Best thing since sliced bread

I have been really behind the times and been on dial up FOREVER! Well today I can now say that I'm "with the times" and have DSL... wooooo hoooooo so like I said...

Best thing since sliced bread.... ;-)

Feeling a little better. Still have a headache. Crazy Tennessee weather I tell ya... crazy Tennessee weather.

Have been real busy this week. Kaitlin had a ballgame Monday night. Terrible storms last night so didn't want to boot up the computer. Tonight I just finished installing this wonderful DSL... Kaitlin has another ballgame tomorrow night. Friday there is a movie coming out that I really, really want to see... maybe I'll go see it.

Just noticed that Bush is wanting to send 3,000 more Marines to Afghanistan by April. That's all I'm going to say about that.

And what did you think about Hillary's tears? Oh please... and that's all I'm going to say about that.

Not much else tonight. I've got to go walk on the tread mill, shower and hit the sack.

Hope everyone is doing good. I sure miss everyone. I will get caught up now on my blog readings. I've got DSL!!!! :-)

Past, Present and a few other things

Ok, so what were you doing in the past? What are you doing in the present?

Ten years ago: I was 33 and very unhappily married with a 9 year old son and a beautiful 3 year old daughter. I was having some major health problems. I was diagnosed with cancer, but by the grace of God it was all contained in one area and didn’t have to have any treatments.

Five years ago: I was still unhappily married! That was when I found out that the jerk was having an affair and I thought my life was ending.

Three years ago: I fell in love with the most wonderful man that I will spend the rest of my life with. I knew then that my life had just begun!

Yesterday: Work. Went home, cooked supper, babied my sickly daughter, crawled into bed with my sugar pie and fell asleep.

Today: Work, but tomorrow TGIF!!!!! … yippee…. Yes, I know I've been off work for two weeks but come on now... I got spoiled during that time. I got to take my naps... ;-)

Tomorrow: Work... again... then coming home and settling in for a peaceful but busy weekend. I must get my house cleaned this weekend. Matt's room is still in a shambles. I don't like to clean it too soon after he leaves because his smell is still in there.

Five snacks I enjoy:

Reeses Cups
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Doritos
Nutty Buddies
Snickers Ice Cream bars

Five bands/artists that I know the lyrics of MOST of their songs:

Lynyrd Skynyrd
The Eagles
Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band
Aerosmith
Elton John

Five things I would do with $100,000,000:

Give to my church.
Remodel our home.
Pay off my bills!
Give to family and friends.
Put away in savings.

Five locations I’d like to run away to:

Hawaii
The Mountains
Disney World

BRRRRRRRRRRRR.... IT'S COLD

Yup, you heard me correctly... it's colder than a well diggers arse in Alaska. I don't believe it ever made it out of the 20's here in the great state of Tennessee today and tonight isn't looking much better.

Well, we made it to Nashville last night around 6:30 or so. I was so looking forward and excited in meeting Lois and her ever so handsome hubby. We left home a little later than planned but still made it in plenty of time.

Let me be the very first to tell you she is a beautiful lady... inside and out. I so look forward to many more get togethers with her and her handsome husband. We kicked it off beautifully... forget the handshakes, nice to meet yous... I was the first to walk through the door in Concourse C, looked to my left and then to my right and there she was... we immediately knew each other and a huge hug took place. Yes, I guess she said it correctly... Drive by Hugging... ;-) I just totally LOVE Lois... but hey, what's not to love... oh and don't let her fool you and say she looks like Snow White... she doesn't... she's gorgeous!

My bottle blonde was working double overtime yesterday and I forgot my camera... but the next time there will be pictures. Then I find out today that Lois did have her camera but being the very gracious southern lady she is she said that she didn't think that it was a good time. Well, my eyes were a little puffy and red from all the crying I had been doing so I guess she was right.

I guess I really lost it the most at lunch. We were all sitting down eating our normal hog jowl, black eyed peas, turnip greens and cornbread. My mother asked him when he was going to get to come home again and he said...

"I don't know"

I'm telling you I totally lost it....

then on the way to Nashville I heard the song that I have totally dedicated to both my kids. "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts... oh dear lord...

but I'm okay today. Matt called last night when he got into Raleigh and had boarded the shuttle bus back to Jacksonville to let me know he made it. He then called again this morning. I'm ok...

I don't like to say "goodbye" because that seems so final... I like to say "I'll see ya later" or "until the next time"... but the "hellos" are undescriable...

Well, my access to blogger is still blocked at work so looks like I'll be posting from home... from now on. That's ok... gives me more time and things to blog about... ;-)

However, tonight I'm cutting things a little short. Kaitlin wasn't really feeling good yesterday or last night and on our way back from Nashville she really got to feeling bad. It was after 9:00 pm and all the walk in clinics were closed so we stopped by the ER in Lexington. She has strep throat. They gave her a huge shot of pencillan and sent of on our way after about 30 minutes. So I need to take care of her now.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Gold New Year
Comment Graphics at pYzam.com

Well, it's 2008. The start of a brand new year. Did I make any resolutions? The answer is only one and that was to be a better person. Forget the diet/working out resolution... I started working out that back in December. So what was your New Years resolution, if any?

Speaking of working out... I was weighed in last week. I had lost 1.5 lbs, 2 inches off my arms, an inch off my waist. My "girls" lost a 1/2 inch as well. I really wasn't too upset about that with it being the holidays and all. I have been eating a few of the goodies ... It will only get better.

Sunday night on
Turnbaby's radio show, if you missed it listen to the archives, Turn and Vinny got to talk to Matt. This was, of course, after he FINALLY got back home from being stuck in the mud. Yes, you heard me right... he and Justin, "his big brother" had gone muddin' and got stuck... on top of a hill... and couldn't get down. Matt had to call a friend and have them pulled out. I wasn't for sure if he would make it home in time or not but he did.

Today we will have the traditional black eyed peas, hog jowl, turnip greens and cornbread for lunch. We will leave around 3:30 - 4:00 pm headed to Nashville to take Matt back to the airport. Today I will get to meet a wonderful lady, a fellow blogger, who has become a very dear friend,
Lois from Lowdown from Lois. She has said that she would meet us at the airport... I can hardly wait to meet her. I'm so excited! What a way to start 2008! WHOOP! WHOOP!

Sadly, I must return to work tomorrow. I don't know if the IT clods still have me blocked or not but I will find out. If so, I will have to start posting from home at night.

With all this being said, I must go for now. I've got a million things to do before this afternoon. Hey y'all... 2008 is going to be a GREAT year!
